Welcome to the 2010 North Shore City Grand Prix.


Please be aware that the rules are different in some cases from what has been used for other races. Some general rules and procedures that riders should be aware of before
arriving at the North Shore City Grand Prix are listed below.


Rules

  • Racing will be conducted under the appropriate Cycling New Zealand and UCI Regulations.
  • Helmets must be worn at all times.

RACE REGISTRATION

  • Race Registration will take place from 5pm at the intersection of Hurstmere Rd & The Promenade.

RACE DURATION

  • U17          15mins + 2laps
  • Age Group   20mins + 2laps
  • Elite Women 25mins + 2laps
  • Elite Men   40mins + 2laps

Gear Restrictions

  • U17 Girls and Boys – 6.610m.
  • Gear rollouts will be checked prior to the start.

Races

  • Race Numbers – Two numbers must be worn, one on the centre of the LOWER back, one on the left.
  • No other cyclists other than those actually racing to be on race circuit while racing is in progress.

SPRINTS

  • Intermediate Sprints for prizes will be announced by a WHISTLE on the lap prior.
  • Final Sprints will be announced by a BELL on the lap prior.

Protests

  • Any protest is to be made to the Commissaires and must be done in a courteous and professional manner.
  • The decision of the Commissaires Panel is final, there are no appeals.

RACE DURATION

  • Race duration maybe reduced according to weather conditions &/or field sizes.

Punctures / Crashes

  • In the case of a recognised mishap (eg. puncture or crash) the rider shall be entitled to a neutralisation of one lap.
  • After the neutralisation, the rider shall resume the race but shall not be eligible for the following intermediate sprint.
  • In the case of mishap prior to the final sprint, the rider must have rejoined the main bunch before two laps to the finish to be eligible for classification.
